Tony Quinn and Matt McCutcheon take first pole for Chevrolet Camaro

Tony Quinn and Matt McCutcheon will start the Game Over Chevrolet Camaro from pole for the opening 30-minute sprint race on Saturday at the 2 Days of Thunder, which is Round 2 of the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships.

The duo have winning history after securing a class victory in an GT4 endurance race at Queensland Raceway last year and appear favourites to replicate at in the QR Twilight 300 at the 2 Days.

Freshly finished prior to the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, the Chevrolet Camaro set a 1m 17.798s to take the outright pole position from a pair of Ford Mustangs.

Trent Whyte will welcome Glen Walker as co-driver at Queensland Raceway and will share the front-row with the Camaro after falling just 0.656s short of the benchmark time.

Third is the returning CMA Car Mods Australia Ford Mustang of Lindsay Kearns and Brad Carr, while a surprise is the leading Class B1 Team Buccini Racing BMW 340i of Paul and Karlie Buccini in fourth outright.

It’s an all-Mercedes third row led by Tom Hayman in Mark Griffith’s A45 AMG, with Mitch Randall lining up alongside in the FG Motorsport example.

A superb lap from Rob O’Connor put the Kirkworks BMW 130i on pole for Class D in seventh alongside Jake Camilleri’s giant killing Class C Mazda 3 MPS.

Richard Shrinkfield was ninth outright and first in Class B2 in the Axis Surveys BMW M3 E92 as Chris Holder completed the top 10 for Prime Motorsports in the Class C Holden Astra OPC.

Just outside was David Ling in the FPV GT-F, championship leader Allan Jarvis driving the Volkswagen Polo GTi, the Clean and Wash HSV Gas of Rohit Saini, Angus Baills driving the Trakwell Toyota 86 ahead of the similar entry of Carlos Rolfo.

Rounding out the field was the PB Motorsport Services Holden Astra HSV VXR of Troy Derwent and Oskar Butt after an accelerator problem limited their qualifying run.

The Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships Saturday action begins with a 30-minute sprint race at 3:00pm AEST before the QR Twilight 300 at the 2 Days starts at 5:35pm AEST into the night.
