Tyler Mecklem opens the Hi-Tec Oils Enduro Championships with victory in Sydney

A spectacular race under lights at Sydney Motorsport Park has opened the Hi-Tec Oils Enduro Championships as the Parramatta Vehicle Services Ford Mustang Mach 1 of Tyler Mecklem opened the season with victory.

Mecklem will share the driving duties with Hadrian Morrall for the two-hour event tomorrow, but guided the Mustang to the first victory of the season.

A challenge came early from the similar Ford Mustang Mach 1 of Ultimate Diesel Tuning’s Trent Whyte, but it suffered an intermittent fault forcing it to slow multiple times.

A1 Class hosted a close battle for the lead between Mitch Randall driving the FG Motorsport Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG and Grant Inwood’s A1 Towing BMW 1M E82, but a collision between the two at Turn 6 ended the race for both.

The two teams are working hard to ensure the two entries will be on-track for the two-hour race.

Morrall continued to lead, but the other Mustang of Whyte was out of the race following a puncture.

All this chaos allowed Allan Jarvis to finish the race second outright among the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship entries in the Class D T0A57D Motorsport Volkswagen Polo GTi ahead of David Ling in the might FPV GT.

Oskar Butt rounded out the field after battling Ling in the PB Motorsport Services Holden Astra HSV VXR to cap off an impressive run.

Racing commences on Saturday for the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships at Sydney Motorsport Park from 9:45am AEST for a two-hour event.
