GRACIE MAKES GT4 RETURN FOR SANDOWN

GRACIE MAKES GT4 RETURN FOR SANDOWN

After enjoying what she describes as “one of the best weekends of my life” racing with Monochrome GT4 Australia in Sydney earlier this year, Renee Gracie is readying for a return to the category for its fourth round of the season at Sandown International Raceway next weekend.

Gracie will once again be piloting the #181 OnlyFans Ginetta G55 run by Griffith Motorsport in the increasingly popular Monochrome GT4 Australia category, which will contest four x 30-minute races at Sandown across September 8-10.

“The Sydney round was my first ever GT4 Australia event and it was absolutely awesome – when people ask me to explain what it was like, I say it was one of the best weekends of my life, because it really was,” Gracie said.

“It had a real family feel, everyone was very welcoming, and with all the opportunities to be on the track, it was just a complete no brainer to get back into it at Sandown and do it all again!

“Everyone is there to have fun and just go racing and with my history where I had lost a lot of the fun in racing, to be a part of that was really cool and made me realise just how much I had missed that. It was something quite special and I am really looking forward to having another amazing weekend in GT4 Australia and to keep chasing that feeling.”

With improvements made on the #181 OnlyFans Ginetta G55 since the Sydney outing, Gracie – who recently secured the 2023 GT World Challenge Australia Trophy Series title – is also hopeful of some solid on-track results.

“Hopefully we can have a good weekend for Mark Griffith and for Ginetta and really show just how capable these cars are,” Gracie said.

“I love every second I am in the OnlyFans Ginetta, it is so much fun to drive and it is such a great car, so hopefully we can represent the brand well and have a consistent weekend with no issues and show everyone the potential it has on the track!”

With her return to the category just a week away, Gracie is also hoping to possibly compete in the upcoming Monochrome GT4 Australia events at The Bend and Bathurst if the stars can align to make it possible.

“I would love to go to the events at Bathurst and The Bend. I am taking it round by round, and things just lined up really nicely to make Sandown all come together,” Gracie said.

“If I can get myself to the Bathurst 12 Hour, then it will be really important for me to go to Bathurst prior as I haven’t been there in so long, so if the 12 hour works out then racing at the Bathurst International will definitely be important.

“I would like to go to The Bend as well as I have never been there as a new track. It looks quite amazing and everyone speaks so highly of it, so if I can that would be great.

“We will just have to see how things pan out – if everything aligns, I would love to be there,” Gracie concluded, while thanking OnlyFans and Mark Griffith for their support.

Round four of the 2023 Monochrome GT4 Australia Championship will be held at Sandown International Raceway as part of the latest Shannons SpeedSeries event across September 8-10, featuring four x 30-minute races alongside Mobil 1 Australian Production Cars.
