Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship introduced

National production car racing has entered a new era through the launch of the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship.

A return to endurance racing for production cars headlines a range of competitor-based changes designed to build on the more than 30 years of history this category enjoys at national level.

Kicking off as part of an impressive line-up of categories as part of the Australian Auto Sport Alliance’s flagship Hi-Tec Oils Super Series at Sydney Motorsport Park on May 30-June 1, the category will enter a fresh era of endurance in the form of a two hour event.

Sydney will witness the new regular Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship format for the first time consisting of two 30-minute sprints and a two-hour race to complete the weekend. This format will be used for three of the four rounds at Sydney, the first Queensland Raceway event and the Winton season finale.

The second weekend at Queensland Raceway will host the prestigious ‘Fight in the Night’ three-hour race. A fixture of the national production car calendar since 2012, the ‘Fight in the Night’ provides a unique opportunity for the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship by being run under lights in one of the toughest events on the calendar.

Further Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship regulation freedoms have been designed to cater to competitors and teams headlined by a return to endurance racing. These also include freedoms in re-fuelling systems such as a choice of dry breaks, fuel churns or rotary pumps, two tyre options (Hankook or Yokohama) and all-inclusive entry fees in a move to further smoothen the process.

These moves are designed to benefit the competitors and continue a strong future for production car racing in Australia through the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship.

The opening round is part of a strong Hi-Tec Oils Super Series package at Sydney Motorsport Park on May 30-June 1.
