Lindsay Kearns sweeps practice to begin Sherrin Rentals Fight in the Night

Lindsay Kearns in the CMA Car Mods Australia Ford Mustang has led the way in the two Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships practice sessions at Queensland Raceway ahead of the Sherrin Rentals Fight in the Night.

Setting the pace in the opening session, Kearns set a 1m 17.911s to lead the Class X Speedcafe.com BMW M4 F82 of Maika Ter Horst and Robert Gooley by just 0.247s.

A pair of A2 Ford Mustangs followed in the form of last round winners Trent Whyte and Glen Walker in the Ultimate Diesel Tuning entry heading reigning Fight in the Night victors Hadrian Morrall and Tyler Mecklem for Parramatta Vehicle Services.

Completing the top five was the Game Over Chevrolet Camaro of Queensland Raceway circuit owner Tony Quinn partnered by New Zealander Matt McCutcheon.

Class A1 was led by the GRW Retail Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X of Craig Allan and Marty White, while the Buccini father-daughter team of Paul and Karlie was fastest in Class B1.

Richard Shinkfield and Chris Holdt finished at the top of Class B in the Axis Surveys BMW M3 E92, with Class C being led by the PB Motorsport Services Holden Astra HSV VXR of Oskar Butt and Troy Derwent.

Class D was headed by the Kirksworks BMW 130i of Rob O’Connor and Jesse Dixon, with sole Class I entry of Greg Wilson finished 19th outright.

It was American muscle to the fore at the end of the second session as two Ford Mustangs led the Chevrolet Camaro.

Warmer conditions for the session led to a slower time for Kearns at a 1m 18.194s to be 0.342s clear of the Whyte/Walker Mustang and 0.425s ahead of the Quinn/McCutcheon Camaro.

Morrall/Mecklem were fourth ahead of the Speedcafe.com BMW M4 of Ter Horst/Gooley as the top five were covered by less than a second.

The Buccini/Buccini BMW led Class B1, Ben Gersekowski in the KCK Lubricants-backed BMW M3 E92 took the honours in Class B2, with Gerard O’Flynn and Andrew Milford were fastest in Class C sharing the Prime Motorsport Holden Astra OPC.

The Kirksworks 130i of O’Connor/Dixon continued to lead Class D as Wilson cracked the top 20 in his Class I BMW.

Qualifying is up next for the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships at 5:10pm AEST, which can be followed via Natsoft live timing.
