Lindsay Kearns take the final win at Queensland Raceway

The CMA Car Mods Australia Ford Mustang of Lindsay Kearns has ended Round 2 of the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships with victory in the final 30-minute sprint race.

It was a race-long battle between Kearns and the Ultimate Diesel Tuning entry of Trent Whyte, but there was a little drama between the two resulting in a spin.

Midway through the race, Kearns attempted to pass Whyte while encountering lapped traffic at Turn 4, but contact was made at Turn 4 resulting in the Ultimate Diesel Tuning Mustang spinning.

This opened the race up as this action allowed the Team Buccini Racing BMW 340i of Karlie Buccini and Tom Hayman in the Grifcorp Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG through into the top two positions.

Kearns was quick to re-pass Whyte and pursue the two leading contenders, which he soon overhauled to take the victory.

Whyte was delayed in catching, then passing the BMW and Mercedes-Benz allowing Kearns an easy path to the flag.

Buccini withstood the advances of Hayman to take third outright behind the two Mustangs.

Jesse Dixon continued the domination of Class D by the Kirkworks BMW 130i in fifth outright to take the win from second in A1 David Ling driving the FPV GT-F.

Taking out Class C in seventh outright was Gerard O’Flynn in the Prime Motorsport Holden Astra OPC leading home the PB Motorsport Service HSV VXR of Troy Derwent.

Finishing second in Class D was the TOA57D Motorsport Volkswagen Polo GTi of Rob Jarvis leaving Emily Caccavielo’s Toyota 86 after she held off Carlos Rolfo similar model.

Completing the field was the BMW M3 E92 of Ettore Vosolo, Rohit Saini in the HSV GTS and Mitch Randall limped the FG Motorsport Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG to 14th.

Failing to take the start were Tony Quinn following the engine failure in his Chevrolet Camaro and Jake Camilleri’s Mazda 3 MPS.

The prestigious Fight in the Night is the next event for the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships as part of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series on August 15-17.
